Izumi Kitajima Resume

Izumi Kitajima

Certified Passive House Consultant

Originally from Japan, Izumi came to the United States in 1996. She received her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas, where she participated in Studio 804. In this project, students designed and built a 1200 square foot house. Through that experience, she came to believe that only houses built with a high level of design excellence, sustainability and craftsmanship can really come to life for their owners. Since joining Peabody Architects after graduation, in addition to focusing on building detailing and three-dimensional modeling, she has become the office expert in energy modeling. In 2009 she became a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). In 2017 she joined the Board of the Passive House Institute of Japan (PHIJP) and serves as their US liaison. In 2018 she became a certified CPHC trainer for PHIUS. She has also received advanced training in WUFI+ Dynamic Energy Modeling software.
